Oh, guess what I got for Christmas.. Whoo whoo..

Well, for Christmas I got (drum roll!).. Age of Empires 3! and it is SO awesome!! I absolutely loved Age of Mythology, which I got a few years ago. I’ve started playing the Campaign, and it is slightly harder than the past ones in other games, but that is better for me, because I found the Campaign too easy in AOM. There are some changes in the game, of course. For one, you don’t need to build stupid granaries and stuff to store food, gold or wood, so it’s much easier to get your colony started. Also, the graphics are better, there is a closer zoom, and better maps. Sadly, though, there is no upgrades guide in the game, only in the strategy booklet, and it is a bit slow, where as all my other games work fine.

For those who don’t know about AOE, it’s sort of a game where you have to build everything you need yourself and make a kind of little village.. Houses to hold more people, stables and barracks for soldiers, etc. You need to collect food, wood and gold so you have enough to actually train people and build structures, though. You also have to fight people. There are different difficulty settings, and I personally think these kinds of games are great because even if I finish the Campaign, I can still play on free maps and Online against other, better players :P. I’m a plotting person, I am not good and shooting games and stuff like Halo and Syphon Filter, so this is better for me. If you have been thinking of getting this game, it is really good, but I’d get a demo first because sometimes it is sloooow.
