My favourite imaginary friends
So this is pretty much old news, but Gorillaz, my favourite band ever, got some song-time at the Euro Music Awards, and sang Feel Good Inc. with really cool Hologram technology. (Not new, though. This is all theatre tricks, really, y'know, projections and mirrors..) I really liked their "performance" except I found that I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for the conflicting weird storm-like footage playing in the background, or those two rapper guys that were just a bit off the beat. I have always been hoping for Gorillaz to tour over here, in Canada, but there's not very much demand right now, I guess.
Although, they did get nominated five times for the Grammy Awards for Best Record of the Year, Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, Best Urban Alternative Performance, Producer of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video (FGInc.)!! I am very excited about this, I'm just hoping the band doesn't lose it's head and keeps their music like it is now. Actually, if you're into that kindof Dark Pop, there are lots of good songs by Gorillaz that I love, better than Feel Good, anyways... My favourites being O Green World and 5/4. I would have loved to have seen the show at the Manchester Opera House. Apparently it received very good reviews.
So yea, fan of Gorillaz? Check out their awesome site over at www.Gorillaz.com (You'll need Flash) and see the winners for the Search for a Star contest!
